Simple Mixed Seafood Tomato Marinara Pasta
This tomato seafood pasta feels like a luxurious restaurant meal, all from the comfort of your own home. A tasty, nutritious mix of shrimp, scallops, clams, and mussels are tossed with marinara sauce and linguine (or other long pasta shape of choice). This dinner is surprisingly simple to make, ready in 45 minutes or less!

Friends – I know cooking mussels and clams may seem intimidating, but fear not! It’s actually SO simple and a wonderful way to add variety to a more basic shrimp pasta recipe. The seafood itself is very quick cooking on the stovetop, and the sauce is all prepared in a single pan before serving with cooked linguine.
As a dietitian, I’m happy to share that this seafood mix is rich in high quality protein and healthy fats, like omega-3s. The sauce is light and fresh, using store-bought marinara and ingredients like olive oil, parsley, and lemon juice. You will love this recipe for a romantic date night at home, but it’s truly easy enough for any weeknight meal 🙂

Please note that these pictures are meant to provide a helpful visual overview of the recipe. Full ingredient measurements and detailed instructions are located in the printable recipe card at the bottom of this post!

STEP 1: Begin by cooking pasta in a large pot of boiling water. I recommend using a long pasta shape, like linguine or spaghetti.

STEP 2: In a large separate pan, heat olive oil over medium-high. Cook scallops for 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from pan + set scallops aside on a clean plate.

STEP 3: In the same pan, cook shrimp 1 minute per side until pink. Set aside with the scallops.

STEP 4: Then, pour marinara sauce into the same pan and bring to a simmer.

STEP 5: Add mussels and clams to the simmering marinara sauce, then cover + cook for about 5 minutes, or until all the shells have opened.

STEP 6: Remove from heat, then add the cooked shrimp and scallops back to the sauce. Stir in cooked pasta and chopped parsley.

STEP 7: Serve with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, freshly grated parmigiano-reggiano, and an optional pinch of red pepper flakes (if you want an extra kick).
